Track Series 29th Aug

The nights are drawing in but there was just enough time & light left to squeeze in the last junior and senior races on the track this year.

In the Juniors it was good to see Stephen Haley still going strong and a new face, Sam Coutanche, Robs younger brother...not quite as quick yet but plenty of potential. Myles Bardin also made a welcome re-appearnace and although lagging behind the other 2 gave it is all with plenty of encouragement from mum and watching crowd. Stephen gradually pulled away from Sam over the 3 lap race to win comfortably with Sam second and Myles third.

With many of the usual faces missing it was a select group taking part in the handicap 30 mins plus 2 lap race. The slower group stayed together for 2 laps until Sean Twohig put the hammer down and rapidly opened a gap which despite the best efforts of Craig Meredith & yours truly we couldn’t close. The fast group came through at approx lap 6 with the 3 leaders Ali, Richard & Jim already opening a big gap back to Rob Coutanche and Peter Ilton. At the finish Ali beat Richard in a close sprint for the line with Jim 3rd. Sean just held onto 4th place, a great result, as Pete & Rob just behind.
